VinNatur Tasting 2025: A Deep Dive into the World of Natural Wines

From April 5 to 7, the small town of Gambellara in Vicenza becomes the epicenter of natural wine culture, as the 20th edition of VinNatur Tasting brings together artisans, enthusiasts, and professionals under one roof—the Margraf showroom—for a three-day celebration of low-intervention winemaking.

Now in its milestone year, the event gathers 200 producers who represent the philosophy of minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. The focus is on authenticity, sustainability, and transparency. Visitors are invited to discover not only the wines themselves, but also the compelling stories behind each bottle—stories rooted in chemical-free farming and a deep respect for nature’s rhythms.

But what exactly is natural wine? At its core, it refers to wine made with little to no commercial additives or preservatives during fermentation and bottling. The grapes are typically farmed with the entire ecosystem in mind, respecting biodiversity, soil health, and environmental balance. Labels might reflect biodynamic or organic certifications, and some producers go further—clearly stating which additives they avoid, such as sulphites, a common but controversial preservative used to prevent spoilage. These wines often take unfiltered, lively forms—zesty, cloudy, and full of character. And forecasts for organic wine sales indicate that consumer demand is steadily rising, driven by a growing appetite for cleaner, more transparent production.

“People in Italy are used to drinking wine that is produced in a conventional style,” notes one producer, “but there’s growing success for small, younger producers making low-intervention wines, in Italy and beyond.” As the natural wine movement gains traction, events like VinNatur are not just places to taste—they’re proving grounds for a new generation of winemakers. The fair’s success in Italy sends a clear message: making wine differently isn’t just a philosophy—it’s a viable way to thrive in am underdeveloped market.

VinNatur Tasting has always aimed to be more than just a fair. It’s a space for meaningful exchange—a place where wine becomes a bridge between cultures, ideas, and environmental values. This year’s edition features over 300 wineries from 12 countries, including Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Argentina.

By visiting the event, you can tell that wine is already such a connector and unifying factor, but with natural wine, it’s like knowing your farmer at the market — it feels much more personal and intimate.

As interest in sustainable agriculture and clean wine continues to grow, VinNatur continues to lead the charge—offering not only a taste of what’s in the glass, but a glimpse into the future of wine.
