Two days of exhibition dedicated to the autochthonous wines of the Alpine regions, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May in the outdoor areas of Trento Fiere, will bring a renaissance to Northern Italy’s wineries, will give value to local vineyards and will award a special prize to the best winemaker.
Vinifera 2021 will host over 70 producers from the Italian Alpine regions, selected by the event organiser Associazione Centrifuga, ensuring compliance with social distances and health regulations.
“Our intent is to give a positive message, one of optimism and rebirth – comments Simone Prezzi, vice president of the Centrifuga association – since Vinifera exhibition was created as a journey of discovery of authentic and genuine territories, those of the Alps, made up of people who work hard and live off the products of their land. After so many months of restrictions and isolation, it is right to start looking to the future and building new bridges, clearly in compliance with all safety regulations. Our wish is that Vinifera will be a moment of peaceful sharing”.
In addition to the tastings the exhibitors’ booths, visitors may also take part in two guided tastings: Saturday 29, from 3 to 5 pm, “Affinity-divergences. Teroldego and the other reds of the Dolomites ”and Sunday 30 May, from 3 to 4:30 pm,“ Excursion to PIWI: the alpine variations of resistant vines ”. Tickets, for both events, are limited in number, with reservations required.
The event will go beyond the two days of May exhibition and will continue also in the summer months thanks to the rich program of the Vinifera Forum: tastings, thematic conferences, guided visits to vineyards and artisan cellars, starting from June until the end of August 2021. The program, is constantly evolving and can be consulted on the event website.
An area dedicated to food will instead feature eight food artisans, local producers and restaurateurs linked to the territory, with the possibility of consuming on the spot or taking the products home.
