Milano Wine Week is here, and you can drink Leonardo Da Vinci wines

Milan Wine Week 2019 is here: from October 6th to 13th Milan features over 300 events with a careful look at the communication evolution of the wine sector and unmissable tastings.

The headquarters of the event will once again be Palazzo Bovara, in Corso Venezia, which thanks to its strategic position and its prestige it is the ideal venue for the most institutional events of the event. The palace will host a busy program of master classes, seminars, launches of new labels, aperitifs, exclusive dinners and walk-around tastings.

Among the key innovations of the 2019 edition, there are the Wine Tours – itineraries that will connect Palazzo Bovara to some of the wine territories located within less than two hours from the city – and the Wine Generation Forum – a meeting between the producers, managers, consultants, technicians and administrators representing the Wine Generation Manifesto, a series of objectives that will provide the appropriate answers to the new generations of wine lovers.

At the same time, 6 Wine Districts throughout the city, will be dedicated to a wine consortium:

-Brera / Garibaldi / Solferino will be the land of Franciacorta
-The Eustachi district will host the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese.
-Porta Nuova will be branded by the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG Consortium
-Porta Venezia will host the initiatives of the Friuli Venezia Giulia DOC Consortium
– Isola will be the kingdom of the Sardinia Region
-Arco della Pace and Corso Sempione will be the place of the Asti Consortium and Moscato d’Asti DOCG

Milan Wine Week will also present a series of special locations: from the Triennale Museum, where visitors of the exhibitions will receive a glass of Ferrari sparkling wine, to the Teatro alla Scala, whose foyer will host an exclusive Wednesday party for the 15th anniversary of the partnership with the Franciacorta maison Bellavista on Wednesday October 9th.

An exceptional preview will be held on Saturday 5 October, at 6.00 pm, in the CityLife Shopping District. The official start will take place in Piazza Tre Torri with an impressive flash mob that will involve thousands of people who will be toasting with the bubbles of the wineries belonging to the Trentodoc Institute. The goal is to exceed the record lifting of 3,000 glasses at the same time. The preview day will end with an inaugural party by Perrier Jouêt with a vernissage of the “Hypernature” art installation created for the Maison by the English artist Bethan Laura Wood.

Tuesday October 8 at 9.00 am at Palazzo Bovara, the second edition of the Wine Business Forum will begin with 100 highly selected stakeholders who will be drawing up a unitary document which will be handed over to the newly appointed Minister of Agriculture.

Friday October 11, from 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm, the focus of Palazzo Bovara’s programming will be the preview of the Merano Wine Festival, which will also continue the day after.
Another flagship event will be the #ToTheMaximum aperitif organized by Cantine Ferrari.

Saturday, October 12, at Palazzo Bovara, there will be a special evening dedicated to all winelovers to discover the secret wine passion of Leonardo da Vinci, passionate winemaker and sommelier. The tasting will feature the wine bottles made by adopting the Leonardo® Method, developed by Cantine Leonardo da Vinci. During the week at Palazzo Bovara there will also be an Aste Bolaffi delegation specialized in the evaluation of collection wines, available for evaluations of wine bottles of enthusiasts and collectors.

Sunday 13 the closing of Milan Wine Week will feature the event organized with Le Donne del Vino, involving a selection of Italian companies positioned on the Milan – Cortina route – as a tribute to the Olympic Games winters of 2026 – for a tasting of their wines in the shops of Corso Buenos Aires, thanks to the support of Confcommercio Milano and Ascobaires. The tasting will be available to the public with the purchase of a card valid for 3 tastings, the proceeds of which will be entirely donated to the AISM – Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association.
