Bardolino Chiaretto DOC rosé wine officially marks the start of summertime in Verona and on Garda lake with 100 nights of music and pairings with #monteveronese cheese. The restart of tourism in Verona and on Garda Lake this summer is crowned by the union between music and Bardolino Chiaretto DOC, the local Garda Lake appellation for rosé wine. Many events will be organised both in Verona and in Bardolino and Lazise, with the aim of supporting the reopening of catering and music sector activities, both heavily penalised by the crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The start is set on Sunday 21 June with the celebrations for the national day of rosé #oggirosa (as decided by Rosautoctono, the Italian indigenous rosé wine institute), and the arrival of summer: glasses of Bardolino Chiaretto wine will be matched by various live concerts.
“100 Note in Rosa” event in Verona, is organised by the Consorzio per la Tutela del Chiaretto and Bardolino under the patronage of the Municipality of Verona and with the collaboration of the Consortium of Monte Veronese Dop cheese. Verona’s restaurants and osteria’s outside patios will host over 100 mini musical events in the weekends from June to September thanks to the best of the Veronese music scene. The pairing between Bardolino Chiaretto wine and Monte Veronese cheese will join the celebrations.
On June 21st in Bardolino there will be three mini concerts with Veronese musicians to mark the launch of the Summer of Bardolino Chiaretto, which will see various events dedicated to Chiaretto all over the month of June and July 2020 in Bardolino (“Chiaretto Bardolino On the Road” will be held on 27 and 28 June with four tasting routes between the hills and the historic center; on July 4th and 5th there will be “Chiaretto in Cantina” with the wineries cellars open to visitors, and on 11th and 12th July for “Chiaretto in centro” the pink-dressed bars and restaurants will offer Chiaretto in glasses that pay homage to this local rose wine).
Finally in Lazise, on the occasion of #oggirosa and the European Music Festival, there will be the event “Lazise loves Chiaretto”: two mini concerts in the squares of the historic center, with an aperitif based on Chiaretto and other local agricultural products, such as cherries and honey.
A splendid occasion to start Summer 2020 sipping this Italian dry and crisp rosé wine made from local red wine grapes such as Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara (more famous for being in the blend of Valpolicella and Amarone), whose versatility will certainly surprise your taste buds. Some notable examples includes KEYA 2019 from Guerrieri-Rizzardi winery, a delicate rosé with a bouquet of strawberry and white peach, Chiaretto del Garda ‘Roseri’ Ca’ Maiol 2019, with aromas of peach and roses flowers, pomegranade, scents of white pulp fruits and litchi, and Chiaretto ‘Rosa dei Frati’ Ca’ dei Frati 2019, a fresh and delicate wine with notes of hawthorn flowers, green apple and wild cherry. Cheers!
