Notte delle Cantine is back and running this June ’22

Sip local wines, socialise and support Südtirolwinemakers all on a gorgeous summer evening. Notte delle Cantine (wineries’ night) will return on June 11th 2022 to celebrate South Tyrolean’s winemaking history and showcase the high-quality wines currently produced in the region.

The event will take place in the municipalities of Caldaro, Termeno, Cortaccia, Ora, Montagna in Alto-Adige in about 30 cooperatives & private wineries between 5pm and midnight, and will feature wine tastings, wineries’ guided tours, music events, gastronomic events featuring local chefs using regional products to prepare mouth-watering dishes. The event represents one of the most popular food and wine event along the renowned South Tyrol Wine Route.

The public can choose between 4 different wine routes based on the selected grapes that will be at the centre of the tastings: Pinor Noir, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet, Schiava. The cellar hopping is organised with shuttle buses, so anyone is able to fully enjoy the wine tastings.

Notte delle Cantine 2022 will give people the chance to discover and taste a large selection of artisanal wines, and connect with leading wineries. Each winery has organised a unique exciting and rewarding wine experience in the cellars. Look forward to fresh new vintages as well as exclusive bottles to taste and shop from – all in one venue. You’ll also get the chance to get up close with winery representatives and learn firsthand from seasoned wine experts.

Expect to taste from iconic wineries such as Cantina Tramin in Termeno, the renowned co-operative founded in 1898 that today represents one of the top producers of the region. A guided tour will allow you to enter its famous red cellar and take part into a vertical tasting of Urban Lagrein Riserva and the best reds of the winery. Local delicatessen and culinary specialties in the new sales point & tasting room which offers a spectacular view to the nearby vineyards and the Lake of Kaltern.

Cantina Kurtatsch presents itself in Cortaccia with a modern, inviting architecture. The wine cooperative has recently celebrated (May 13th 2022) its 120th anniversary with the inauguration of a new building. People will have the chance to visit the peculiar “Dolomite” cellar during the guided tours. Meat enthusiasts will taste a creative selection of burgers, which includes creations such as “Knuspriger Hons”, “Gezupfte Moidl” or “Hoaße Zenzi”, served directly from the “pims” food truck. Wines from the “Terroir” Selection will be served from Magnum size bottles.

Franz Haas winery in Montagna, founded in 1880 by Franz Haas and passed on from father to eldest son, all of them named Franz Haas, for generations (Franz Haas VII “father of Alto Adige Pinot Noir,” but will be always remembered for his commitment to express with its wines the character, typicity, and longevity of the unique Alto Adige area) and whose distinctive colourful wine labels by Italian artist Riccardo Schweizer are unmistakable, is ready to open its cellar to the public with a thorough guided tour and the chance to do a vertical tasting of 5 different vintages of Manna. Also available to taste: Sofi Müller Thurgau, Pinot Grigio, Sofi Schiava, Sofi Rosso, Pinot Bianco, Lagrein, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Nero, Pinot Nero Rosé, Pinot Nero Schweizer, Moscato Giallo, Sauvignon, and the renowned Moscato Rosa and Distillato di Moscato Rosa.

Tickets for Notte delle Cantine cost 10 euro per person and are available on site at the local info points. A shuttle service connects the individual cellars and the municipalities.
