Vinitaly 2023, the business centre of Italian wine & beyond

A fairground of more than 100 thousand square meters net, 17 pavilions at full capacity, ready to become the largest international b2b center of Italian wine and beyond, with more than 4000 companies representing the entire made-in-Italy wine industry and from over 30 nations. Vinitaly 2023, the international exhibition scheduled to take place at Veronafiere from April 2nd to 5th, reinforces its business and service positioning in support of one of the most strategic sectors of Italian exports and, for the 55th edition, further strengthens the development plan of the only event that has contributed to marking growth and success of Italian wine on international markets.

At the same time, Enolitech and Sol&Agrifood. Business, then, but also communication. Vinitaly, in fact, is a mega spot to Italian wine with almost 4billion audience generated on the media in Italy and abroad in the highlight week of the event. An intangible return of indirect promotion that also involves the other two exhibitions taking place at the same time in Verona – Enolitech with Vinitaly Design and Sol&Agrifood with B/Open and Xcellent Beers – bringing the total exhibition in the district to more than 4,400 companies.

Lots of initiatives. In terms of business themes and formats, the 55th International Wine and Spirits Exhibition will be preceded on Saturday, April 1, by Vinitaly OperaWine, the prologue tasting with the 130 flagship producers selected by Wine Spectator. While the fair schedule sees the confirmation of the main thematic areas (Vinitaly Bio, International wine hall, Vinitaly Mixology and Micro Mega Wines curated by wine writer Ian D’agata), the matching of Taste and Buy, with operators selected by the fair network in collaboration with the Consorzi di tutela and the Tasting Express with the most important international magazines of the sector. More than 70 tastings are scheduled to date in the event’s official calendar (being updated on vinitaly.com). These include the walk-around tasting of Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri 2023 (Sunday, April 2) and the Orange Wine Festival (April 3) featuring top wineries from 10 countries, as well as the Vinitaly Tasting – The DoctorWine Selection curated by Daniele Cernilli (April 2 and 3), designed for buyers and horeca operators, and the Young to Young or focuses: Young wineries tell their stories to young communicators, three tasting sessions with ten young producers signed by Paolo Massobrio and Marco Gatti.

Space is also given to Competitions. On March 22 the International packaging competition – Vinitaly Design returns, the competition that rewards the best packaging for trend, design and innovation of wines, spirits, liqueurs, beer and extra virgin olive oil followed by 5 StarsWines The Book and Wine without walls, the awards for companies that invest in improving the quality of their products.

Outside the show. The distinction between trade show operators and winelovers also continues. Dedicated to the latter is Vinitaly and the city, the itinerary of wine talks, tastings, exhibitions and off-show events in the most representative places of the UNESCO World Heritage city: Piazza dei Signori, Cortile Mercato Vecchio and Cortile del Tribunale. Scheduled from March 31st to April 3rd, Vinitaly and the city is organized by Veronafiere with the collaboration of the Municipality of Verona, the Province of Verona and Fondazione Cariverona.
