From 26th to 28th November at Piacenza Expo more than 850 indipendent winegrowers are back for the 11th edition of “Mercato dei Vignaioli Indipendenti” belonging to FIVI – Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers) representing those winemakers managing the entire production line phases, from the vineyard to the vinification, including bottling.
After the great success of 2021, with 20,000 admissions and more than 670 exhibitors, this year the event returns boasting the participation of over 850 Winegrowers from all Italian regions. Ready to uncork their wines, the winemakers themselves will guide the tastings directly with the public during the three-days Trade Show in Piacenza, besides their own territories and wines. It will bealso possible to purchase the wines directly at the winemaker’s stands.
Among the new features of this year there will be three pavilions dedicated to wine, where you can get to know, taste and buy thousands of wines, made with passion by FIVI Winegrowers. Besides, a special pavilion will be dedicated to the gastronomy area, where food artisans will complete the exhibition with their proposals.
After the success of the last two editions, the day of Monday has been confirmed, in addition to the traditional weekend, with special attention for operators and professionals in the sector.
The billboard of this edition comes thanks to the collaboration with Corraini Edizioni and the master Guido Scarabottolo, illustrator and graphic designer with a personality that fits well with the nature of FIVI.
The Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers was born in 2008, following the model of the Confédération des Vignerons indépendants de France (VIF). At the beginning of 2008 the FWS, the association grouping Independent Winegrowers from Alto Adige, were contacted by CEVI (Confédération Européenne des Vignerons Indépendants) to create a group that would defend and safeguard the interests of Independent Winegrowers also in Italy with the first Constituent Assembly of FIVI on 17th July 2008, held at the Reggia di Colorno Ducal Palace (Province of Parma).
Nowadays FIVI counts more than 1300 members in Italy (3% of the approximately 42,000 Italian wine producers). Joining FIVI involves the fulfilment of a series of important and essential requirements. The independent winemaker must follow every step of production (from vineyard to marketing, going through processing, wine tasting, and all the bureaucratic and administrative aspects).
