Milano Wine Week: the lab of future wine in the city of excellence

Returning for its fourth edition, from 2 to 10 October, Milano Wine Week is the trade fair that innovates the world of wine events and that evolves year after year to intercept industry shifts, welcoming professionals and the general public at a crucial time for the comeback of wine consumption and sales.

With Milano Wine Week, the wine industry’s promotion starts back up from the capital of Made in Italy and spreads across the country and around the world, with events and tastings hosted in 11 foreign venues connected live with Milan, in 7 countries: USA, Canada, UK, Russia, China, Hong Kong and Japan.

The program features 9 days of physical events – which will take place in complete compliance with regulations guaranteeing the safety of attendees – where wine businesses and Consortia will be able to dialogue with industry professionals and wine-lovers. Milano Wine Week (MWW) is one of the pillars of the resurgence that the city will experience this fall season, when it will once again be the stage of the synergic comeback of Italy’s excellence, from fashion and design to wine.

“An event that will bring forth a wave of innovation and provide useful market insights and analyses, drawing upon the Milan-system where business happens between producers and buyers, and integrating the end consumer through a highly innovative process based on the use of new technologies for data processing and future planning”, announced Federico Gordini, President of Milano Wine Week.

To enable wineries of any scale to access the MWW business and networking opportunities, Milano Wine Week presents Wine Business City, scheduled for 3-4 October: an innovative, 2-day business event where companies and industry professionals from the distribution and physical and digital retail sectors can meet at an essential time of year for the wine sector, when purchases for the final trimester of 2021 and for the first one of 2022 are defined.

For wine lovers and enthusiasts, Milano Wine Week is strengthening its typical format that involves the entire territory, aiming to represent an opportunity to return to conviviality and sociality by combining the excellence of some of the main Italian wine Consortia with MWW’s Wine Districts: a selection of some of Milan’s most popular neighbourhoods whose bars and restaurants will present special activities in partnership with each Consortia which, along with promotional activities and the use of technology, will transform the Wine Districts into a public itinerary to discover some of the leading Italian PGI products and their producers.

The fair will also be an ideal platform to promote the return of consumer culture, in support of all of the bars and restaurants that are seeking opportunities for visibility and resurgence after many months of shutdown.

Milano Wine Week also makes Milan a HUB for wine and food tourism. This year, MWW presents its Wine Tours, which offer itineraries and activities designed to discover the marvels of wine territories no further than two hours away, with shuttles departing from the city center to create connections between places, products and experiences.
